A Guide to Plan New Years While Pregnant

With 2019 creeping up on us, we’re all feeling hopeful: “new year, new me.” What if that slogan also adds “new year, new baby?” While prepping for the little one, New Year’s celebrations might be the last thing you want to be a part of, when historically, it involves pregnancy no-no’s (alcohol). However, there are always alternatives! Below are some suggestions to sub-out the drinking-centered celebrations for low-key, pregnancy-friendly festivities.

Movie Night

Although the movie theater experience is quite enjoyable, you can still revel in it from the comfort of your own home. Grab some popcorn, a group of friends and/or your partner, and enjoy some holiday-themed movies. If you’re looking to watch a few, maybe pick a series to entice the crowd. You can even perfectly time a film with the ball dropping!

Cookie Party

Did someone say cookies?! If you’re in the mood for something sweet, this might be the perfect option. Invite some friends over, and each make a different batch of cookies (with decorations, of course), and then give each other a few from each batch. Not only are you socializing over the smell of freshly-baked cookies, but you also take home a plethora of sweets. It’s the sweetest way to ring in the New Year.

Spa Night

There isn’t a person in the world who doesn’t love a good spa day – it is the pinnacle of relaxation. Do it as a couple or a group – there’s no wrong way. Grab spa favorites: cucumbers, homemade face masks (maybe have the group make these together), and comfy robes. Bring in the New Year in fashion – a green face and your fuzziest slippers.

New Years can take on a whole new meaning this year with that baby bump. Find a way to celebrate that fits your style, whether it’s a dinner out or hanging with the girls by the fire. But most of all, cheers to a happy, healthy New Year!
